Dr. Ron Morris

A native of Southern California, Dr. Morris' education philosophy was framed through his experiences attending St. Thomas Catholic School in Riverside. After graduating high school, he served six years in the United States Air Force stationed in Naples, Italy and Shreveport, LA.

While active duty he met his wife, Tammy, and finished his Master’s Degree at Louisiana Tech University.

He began his teaching career in the Dallas Independent School District teaching 6th grade and Kindergarten. While in Dallas he served many roles including the Before- and After-School Program Coordinator, Reading First Coordinator, Associate Principal, as well as an elementary, middle and high school principal.

Dr. Morris and his family, which included a high school junior at the time, then moved to Sweetwater, Texas where he served as the principal of Sweetwater High School. In 2018, to be closer to aging parents, Ron and Tammy moved to Tyler where he assumed his current position at Tyler Classical Academy.

Currently, Tammy teaches at Douglas Elementary in Tyler ISD and their daughter, Mary, is a senior at the College of St. Mary in Omaha, Nebraska where she plays golf and is graduating with a double major in Chemistry and Mathematics. The 2019-2020 school year marks Dr. Morris’ 30th year in public service.
